Description

AREA XL is SCM’s high-capacity 5-axis CNC machining centre with a mobile gantry structure, engineered for fully industrial production of large-format X-lam/CLT panels used in walls, ceilings, and roof elements. Designed for seamless integration into automated manufacturing lines, it manages panels up to 400 mm thick and 3600 mm wide with fully automatic handling and referencing, supported by a motorised worktable capable of moving elements weighing up to 12.7 tonnes. With one or two high-performance machining heads delivering exceptional torque and power, AREA XL ensures effortless heavy-duty stock removal and precise machining even on the toughest woods. Its integrated cleaning systems keep the work area immaculate—inside the cabin, beneath, and along the sides of the worktable—leaving processed surfaces free of shavings. Enhanced by SCM’s Maestro beam&wall software, compatible with leading CAD design systems, and the intuitive Maestro active beam&wall HMI, AREA XL offers complete programming freedom and simplified, optimized production flow control.
