AREA X is SCM’s advanced 5-axis CNC machining centre with a mobile gantry structure, engineered for high-precision production of X-lam/CLT walls, floors, and even complex curved glulam beams. Designed with exceptional flexibility, it offers five configurable worktable bases—from 16,000 to 36,000 mm—and options suited to both stand-alone installations and fully automated high-productivity lines. With workpiece handling speeds up to 40 m/min and automatic reference-clamping, Area X ensures fast, fluid workflow, while its 30 kW operating unit delivers top-quality performance even in heavy-duty applications. An integrated exhaust and cleaning system keeps the work area consistently spotless, enhancing efficiency and reliability. Completing the experience, SCM’s Maestro beam&wall software—compatible with leading CAD systems—provides full programming freedom both in the office and on the machine, with the intuitive Maestro active beam&wall interface simplifying control and production flow optimization.
